What better way to start the New Year than to get back into eating healthy. For me I start with increasing the water I drink, but who wants just boring old water. Let’s add some healthy ingredients to water, make a big batch and sip all day. This infused water tastes fantastic and has next to nothing for calories. Cucumbers, lemons, parsley and cilantro also have some great detoxing properties.

Dieter’s Dream Water
Ingredients
- large pitcher of cold filtered water

- 1/2 cucumber thinly sliced
- small bunch cilantro stems cut off
- small bunch Italian parsley stems cut off
- handful of frozen cranberries
Instructions
- Mix all ingredients together and refrigerate.
- I make mine the night before so the flavour from the ingredients is stronger.
- Continue to refill with water for throughout the day.
Genious!’so simple. Doing it right now!
I’ve been sipping all day.. off go those holiday treat pounds!
thanks Brooke, fresh cranberries will work as well, I use the cranberries as a garnish, although after the water sits a while the frozen cranberries do release flavour. Sipping pretty drinks always seem to taste better!
Are you supposed to eat the fruit?
I usually don’t because it gets a bit soggy as it is in the water. I like to make my water the night before so it has lots of time to release the flavour and nutrients from the veggies and fruit.
how often do you replace the fruits and veggies
I usually make a large pitcher the night before, and then sip it all the next day, refilling with water throughout the day. If the fruit is not soggy you should be able to use the same fruit for 2 days.
is this a drink you can have all the time? Or should you drink it for a week and then stop? Or was is the suggested schedule to drink this?
I have been enjoying this for two days now. I am looking for some great results because along with this and daily 5 miles walk a day I’m trying this routine for one month. What is it about this water that helps my weight lost program?
Tashauda, that is great!! All the ingredients in this water firstly help with fluid retention, I also found it curbs the appetite. Also drinking such a great looking, fresh looking drink, that has zero calories, helps curb those cravings.
Thanks I’m excited!!!! I’m detoxing and this has been the highlight of my program, some of the ladies at the office are even interested. Have a great evening. Thx Tashaunda Rodgers
Mrs King this detox water is truly amazing, along with my walking and my lite evening supper, I have shown great improvement in only one week, i am slimming and feeling great. I can even sprint again. I beat me son who is a ten year old football player. i haven’t been able to beat him in a long time. God is truly amazing thank you.
That is FANTASTIC Tashaunda, keep up the good work!
I am going to make the up as I am guilty of not drinking water and as this looks delightful …..as they say time to get my act in gear….lol can I ask what is Cilantro? does it go by another name…..cheers Linda
Hello Modgirl, Cilantro is also called coriander or chinese parsley. It is usually found in the grocery store by the fresh parsley.
I can’t find fresh or frozen cranberries at my store. Can I leave them out or can they be substituted with dried cranberries or other fruit?
I wouldn’t use dry cranberries as they usually have sugar in them and will get mushy. Try sour cherries (nanton cherries) which are usually in season now. Be sure to crush some to release the juices.
Can you taste the Cilantro in the drink? I do not like Cilantro…
Thanks,
Heather
Yes you can taste the cilantro, maybe try fresh parsley or mint leaves instead
CAN YOU USE BOTTLED WATER, HAVE ANYBODY REPORTED ANY SIGNIFICANT WEIGHT LOSS?
Hi Katie, for sure you can use bottled water. I have had people provide great feedback that the water is helping with their weight loss efforts. The water alone will not make you lose weight, you still need to modify your nutrition and exercise.
Can you add mint leaves instead of parsley or cilantro?
for sure!!
Is this receipe just as good as the Apples and Cinnamon water? Thank you for the receipe by the way.
I personal prefer this recipe over an apple cinnamon water.
can you use frozen blueberries
Frozen blueberries may work but I think they would get too mushy.
Beautiful pictures Laureen. Just adding a few slices of lemon can make all the difference. Best to use organic lemons to avoid the pesticide residue.
Thank you Sandy, yes I agree using all organic is the way to go!
so you could actually replace the cranberries with any other fruit you’d like?? I bet orange slices would be really good!
Orange slices would taste great, sour cherries, probably any fresh or frozen fruit as long as it is sugar free, and a lower sugar content type of fruit.
I’m a major coffee drinker. So when starting this, should I stop drinking coffee? What are other do’s and don’ts?
I too am a major coffee drinker and still enjoy my coffee at all times.
Can you just get fresh cranberries and the just freeze them.
For sure, fresh cranberries would taste great!
I have also seen recipes that call for mint instead of cilantro, is that an okay substitute?
for sure, some people don’t like cilantro, so mint is a great substitution.
How many times a day should you drink this?
I sip it throughout the day, but aim for 8 – 8oz glasses
Ok thank you…Will try
I did my detox as water strawberry Lemon slices and mints, does that work? also I squeeze a little from the lemon
Many different combinations will work, but I would add the cucumber!
thank you, I will add the cucumber and try it, will let you know.
Is it okay to heat up the water and make it tea?
Yes! that is a great idea.
how long should you stay on this detox water and are you able to eat while your doing it
You can sip on this water any time, it’s tasty an refreshing. If I am trying to loose a few pounds I usually aim for 8-10 glasses a day for 7 days and follow a diet that eliminates all sugar, all dairy, bread, pasta and all wheat and corn products.
can i add apple coder vinegar to this to lose weight??
AK, I suppose you could, but I’ll admit apple cider vinegar is not a flavour I like.
