What are steel cut oats?
All oats start out as a hulled and toasted wholegrain called a grout. Also known as Irish oatmeal, pinhead oats or coarse oatmeal. Steel cut oats are made from chopping each grout into tiny pieces on a steel mill. They are minimally processed, take the longest to cook, and have the chewiest texture. They don’t absorb as much moisture as old fashioned oats, rolled oats or quick-cooking oats, therefore keeping their nutty flavor and rich texture.

- Pea milk
Fresh or frozen fruit options to try in this smoothie recipe?
- Bananas
- Berries such as strawberries, raspberries, and blueberries

I think this smoothie tastes sweet enough from the fruit, however, you can add a touch of maple syrup or honey for extra sweetness.
